NATO is committed to the transition of full security responsibility for the whole of Afghanistan to Afghan forces by the end of 2014. This ambitious goal requires a number of measures to be taken early enough to keep NATO’s ISAF mission on the right track.
The latest report from the NATO Defense College includes the key findings of the debates that took place last July in Rome, at a conference which gathered a number of high-level military and civilian experts to discuss the requirements of a successful transition in Afghanistan.
