NORDEFCO - Nordic defence cooperation - is often presented as a great example of Smart defense and a model of "pooling and sharing" for other countries and regions to copy in times of economic restraint. The five Nordic countries engage in a wide range of joint defence programs and projects, ranging from weekly air defense training in the High North to maritime patrolling in the Baltic Sea, and a multitude of activities in between.
