On 7th November, SC 133 visited the German Ministry of Defence where they were received by General Wolfgang OHL Chief Division II of the Directorate General for Security and Defence Policy, who provided a comprehensive lecture on Germany’s views of international affairs. He clearly stated that NATO remains the bedrock for German security, while the EU is a “project for peace”.
His intervention was followed by that of General Andre Bodeman Chief Division II of the Directorate General for Strategy and Operations who described military operations in the German Armed Forces.
After lunch, SC 133 visited the German Parliament and met Ms Daniella de Ridder, Member of the German Armed Forces Commission, assisted by Hennig Speck National Security Advisor, who explained German security and defence policy and kindly answered all the questions.
