On 9 May 2022, the NATO Defense College (NDC) welcomed a delegation from the UK Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) headed by the representative of the RCDS Senior Directing Staff, Air Vice-Marshal Philip Lester. The aim of the visit was to introduce the visitors to the role of the NDC, to analyse current issues of interest to NATO and to discuss the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Upon arrival, the 20-strong visiting delegation was warmly welcomed by the NDC Commandant, Lieutenant General Rittimann. Air Vice-Marshal Lester signed the Guest Book.
The NDC Commandant first presented a comprehensive briefing to the visitors about the history, mission and main activities of the NATO Defense College, followed by a Q&A session. Next, the NDC Commandant gave a lecture entitled “NATO 360”. NDC Senior Researcher Dr Marc Ozawa then delivered a lecture focused on the “Russia-Ukraine crisis”. To wrap up the day, a Q&A session was held with the lecturers and NDC Senior Researcher Dr Chloe Berger, moderated by Colonel David Hannah, NDC’s UK Senior National Representative.
