
On 19 September 2012 the NATO Defense College (NDC) in Rome was honoured to receive the visit of H.E. Aleš Hojs, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia. To mark this important occasion, the Minister was escorted on arrival by a Guard of Honour from the Carabinieri Corps and cordially welcomed by NDC Commandant LtGen Arne Bård Dalhaug.
The Commandant provided an introduction to the mission and role of the NDC, with a detailed explanation of its institutional life and academic schedule. After this, Minister Hojs and the Commandant took part in a round table at which the structure of the NDC, its courses and related activities were discussed.
After an informal meeting with the leadership of the College, the Minister was accompanied on a tour of the premises by the Commandant and the Dean, Dr. Richard D. Hooker, who provided some additional information about the history of the NDC and its internal organization.
