
On 20 September 2023, the NATO Defense College (NDC) welcomed the Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Zukan Helez.
The aim of this visit was to acquaint the visitors with the NDC’s mission, activities and general dynamics, and to exchange information on teaching methods.
Upon arrival, Minister Helez and his delegation, composed of Deputy Minister for Policy and Plans Mr Slaven Galic, Deputy CHOD for Resources

Office Mr Saiko Beba, and their interpreter, Ms Nataša Stojcevic, were welcomed by the Commandant of the NATO Defense College, Lieutenant General Max A.L.T. Nielsen. The Minister then signed the NDC Guest Book. Afterwards, the delegation was briefed by the NDC Commandant, introducing them to the main activities, history, and mission of the College, following which a discussion was opened with the guests. By the end of the visit, the visitors were guided on a tour of the NATO Defense College and a group photo was taken at the main entrance.
Mr Zukan Helez has been serving as Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Defence since January 2023. At the 2018 general elections, Mr Helez was elected Member of the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Before that, from 2014, he served as Representative in House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 2011 to 2015 he was a member of the Economic and Social Council.
